ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
Welcome and congratulations on your newest edition or your impending arrival! My name is Jaz, I'm a Registered Midwife a Mother to one. We have a full house here on the Gold Coast with some furry friends too!
It's my passion to guide and support families through their journey through pregnancy and your first weeks as new parents and that is how "Te Koha Midwifery Services" was born.

I'm here to support you in your parenting choices and styles in a non-judgemental way.

It is my true belief that each and every family deserves continuity of care in an easily accessible and equitable way.
EXPERIENCE
I gained my Bachelor of Health Science in Midwifery at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand before I began working as an Independent Midwife providing continuity of care to women and their families all over Auckland. I provided pregnancy, labour and birthing care in hospital, birthing centres and at home, and postnatal care for Mum and baby at home until 6 weeks. I provided breastfeeding support to those who needed it, alongside supporting new parents to gain confidence in those early weeks.
I jumped the ditch in 2016 in search of the sun, and began working permanently as a midwife at a Gold Coast private hospital maternity ward where I provided antenatal, labour and birth care and postnatal care on the ward, as well as teaching antenatal and parenting classes and community home visits.

During my time on the Gold Coast and my experience having my first child here, I felt there was a need for more postnatal in-home support for new families in the first 6 weeks, and "Te Koha Midwifery Services" was born.
I graduated with my Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Midwifery - Complex Care) and my Prescribing for Midwives in 2020 to gain my medicare eligibility and prescribing rights here in Australia.
It's my vision to provide affordable, accessible midwifery care for Gold Coast Families and so here we are!

I work in a collaborative arrangement with two local obstetricians who I refer and consult with as needed and maintain consultation relationships with local paediatricians and GPs.
